1. You want your child to get more physically fit
When schools across the country are cutting PE classes and kids are playing more video games, physical fitness is falling by the wayside. Our Tae Kwon Do classes are a great answer to that. Not only do we help your child increase their strength, flexibility, and stamina, we also give them a fun way to do it!
2. You want your child to learn self-defense
At Jeon's Korean Martial Arts, we believe that self-defense is a skill that everyone should have. Tae Kwon Do is an ancient art that has a long history of practical self-defense. Please know that when we say self-defense, we do not mean that we teach your kids how to fight. We teach them how to defend themselves so they don’t have to fight! Hopefully, your child will never need any of these techniques in life but isn’t it better that he or she knows something about self-defense?
3. You want your child to learn self-control and increase their concentration skills
Self-control and concentration are extremely important skills for kids to have and Tae Kwon Do is a great way to learn them. Self-control is the skill and the ability to focus on tasks without getting distracted. Today’s world is all about multi-tasking and short-term results, so children don’t have much opportunity to practice self-control outside of school. Tae Kwon Do gives students goals and structures so they will be able to practice their self-control skills in a safe environment. Just like any other skill, it needs to be practiced to make it perfect!
4. You want your child to have fun while developing self-confidence and self-esteem
Kids say our program is FUN but parents say that our program instills self-confidence, respect, discipline, self-esteem, and a great attitude. To inspire self-confidence is our top priority. When your child has self-confidence, they can do anything. We don’t mean “fake” self-confidence or “fake” self-esteem; we mean self-confidence and self-esteem that develops after constant practice, constant work, and constant reinforcement. We are not like other martial arts schools that give a belt at regular intervals just for showing up. Our kids have to work for their new belts, but always in a FUN way.
5. You want your child to learn respect for themselves and for others
One of the most important things your child will learn at Jeon's Korean Martial Arts is respect for themselves and for others. Students learn to respect parents, teachers, peers, and themselves. Students answer “yes sir” during classes and must prove that they show respect to parents and family members before receiving their first belt. As they rise in rank, they will be expected to respect those that have higher and lower ranks so that they are always practicing respect. We believe that being respectful is a learned skill, and we endeavor to help you teach it to your child at every opportunity!
6. You want your child to experience all the other benefits of Tae Kwon Do
There are many other benefits to Tae Kwon Do, but one of the most important benefits that hasn’t been mentioned already is gaining a sense of leadership. As students get higher in rank, we ask them to take on more leadership roles in their classes. Our program enables your child to gain experience helping out newer students, and inspiring them just like they were inspired. We want your child to pass along their experience just as much as our instructors want to pass their experience to your child. We believe that everyone has unique insights to share with others, so we make sure to give your child the opportunity to help. Not to mention the fact that we want them to have fun and make new life-long friends!
7. You want your child to train with an experienced teacher
Grandmaster Jae D. Jeon and Master Grace Lee are the main instructors at Jeon's Korean Martial Arts. They are patient with every student they meet, and are dedicated to teaching students Tae Kwon Do in a way that makes sense to them. Under their martial arts skill and leadership in South Florida, they have made Jeon's Korean Martial Arts Master Academy a proud hosting school for the 2017 U.S. OPEN WORLD MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPIONSHIP at BROWARD CONVENTION CENTER in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
8. You want your child to have the personal attention they deserve
Our classes are intentionally small because children learn better in small groups, especially Tae Kwon Do. We never want your child to feel like just a number in our classes like in many other martial arts schools. Your children deserve the expert personalized attention that we provide!
9. You want to see if your child likes Tae Kwon Do before signing up
